Bo Bichette isn’t expected to miss much time after suffering a left ankle contusion in the Mets’ loss on Wednesday night.

The team’s starting third baseman wasn’t in the lineup for the series finale against the Brewers on Thursday. Though he was available off the bench, he did not play.

He hit a foul ball off his left ankle in the third inning a day earlier.

“Kind of the classic contusion from smoking a ball off your ankle,” interim manager Andy Green said before the Mets’ 8-2 loss to Milwaukee at Citi Field on Thursday.

“But I think he’s ultimately going to be OK.”

Brett Baty started in place of Bichette at third.

It was another frustrating evening for A.J. Ewing, the rookie center fielder who has seen his OPS fall to .667. In August, Ewing is batting .172 (15-for-87).

He did hit the ball hard three times and was robbed of a hit in the eighth inning by Brewers shortstop Cooper Pratt.

“I’m seeing a ton of bad luck for a hitter right now, he’s taking some really good swings,” Green said. “Yesterday’s game started with 106 mph off the pitcher’s back that ricocheted to the third baseman. He’s having better and better at bats that are more in line with who he’s always been.

“That’s really encouraging to see — it’s discouraging from a bottom-line perspective, not getting anything to show up in the box score or the game.”

Juan Soto felt good after taking live batting practice and running the bases Wednesday.

The plan was for him to get more on-field work Thursday, but that didn’t happen because of the weather. Soto has been sidelined since July 24 with a left calf strain.
