Nahshon Wright admits this season has been tough on him.
The Jets cornerback has played zero defensive snaps for the team after signing a one-year, $3.5 million contract with the team in free agency.
“It’s been frustrating,” Wright said this week. “I just want to play, that’s it. I think any competitor would be frustrated with not playing.”
The Jets signed Wright after he had five interceptions last season for the Bears. He was expected to compete for a starting job, but a training camp injury ended any thoughts of a competition and second-year player Azareye’h Thomas grabbed the starting spot.
Thomas has played well since the season started, and there has been no playing time for Wright.
Wright was inactive for four weeks before being active for last week’s game because Jarvis Brownlee Jr. was inactive due to disciplinary issues.
Jets cornerback Nahshon Wright (26) practices in Florham Park, N.J., Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2026. Bill Kostroun for NY PostWright said he has not gotten any explanation from the coaches as to why he is not playing.
“Not at all,” Wright said.
The trade deadline is Nov. 10, and Wright is a possible piece the Jets could move. Wright said he has not asked for a trade, but he has spoken to the front office.

“We’ve spoken. I wouldn’t say necessarily that I want to go somewhere else,” Wright said. “I am just trying to figure out what is best for me, whether that’s here or somewhere else.”
Wright was asked if he would welcome a trade.
“That wouldn’t be my decision,” Wright said. “That would be [GM Darren] Mougey’s decision.”
Second-year OT Armand Membou faces a tough challenge this week against Raiders superstar Maxx Crosby.
“I feel like games like these show you how good you are, going against a great player like him,” Membou said. “I’m definitely very excited for the opportunity. At the same time, I know the workload I’m going to have on Sunday. I’m just getting my mind right.”
Coach Aaron Glenn said he spoke to Membou this week about the matchup and told the tackle he believes in him.
“There’s going to be times he’s going to be one-on-one, so go be the guy we all know you can be, the guy that trained his ass off during the offseason getting into training camp, and going into now,” Glenn said. “Even though I had that talk with him, he doesn’t need that, he knows exactly what he needs to do and he has all the confidence in the world in himself, and we do too.”
The Jets placed NT T’Vondre Sweat (knee) on injured reserve. They signed NT Payton Page to the active roster to take his roster spot. They also elevated OT Brant Banks and edge Quinton Bell off the practice squad for Sunday’s game.
